paintings on the wall

i have been meaning to write a post on this topic since a long time.but since i am also working hard for the title of 'The laziest person on Earth',i tried to ignore it as much as i cud. but not anymore.
i am talking about the paintings that are currently gracing the walls of some parts of my city. i have had the chance to look at them in the kachari-panbazar area and i am so glad that someone came up with this brilliant idea.for those who are not sure what i am talking about, let me explain. the walls of guwahati which were, till few months ago, used for politics-related graffiti, posters, banners of all kinds, and not least of all as pik-daan for all pan lovers of the city, have undergone a vaaaast change.

some artistically and culturally inclined person(must be in colaboration with the city administration) have transformed these walls in to a huge canvas for beautiful paintings depicting the traditonal life style and culture of assam. i dont how good these paintings will look to the serious art lover, but to my eyes, which had ceased to really 'notice' these walls, they are a great treat. more than the subject of the paintings themselves, i am glad that the walls are now free from the useless banners and slogans, and are rather used for a better cause.
these walls now make me feel slightly proud of guwahati even.u really have to seen them to understand wat i mean.i hope other parts of the city will also soon be blessed with similar beautiful decorations.
