winter is here

oh dear winter, at last u are here.
i cant begin to tell how much i have missed you and how much i have been waiting for you.
gone are the sweltering hot summer and muddy monsoon days.they do have some charm of their own but nothing comes close to you.
i know there are innumerable people who despise you, who suffer when you come,but i am still your biggest admirer.when i was in school,you brought holidays with you,which allowed me to sleep in as late as i wanted.
you provided me the perfect excuse for hiding my not-so-shapely self in sweaters, blazers, shawls.
you brought magh bihu, my favorite festival, with my favourite food and the great masti-time with friends and family around the bonfire.how can i ever forget them.the fun and frolic, the games, the 'laad-pyaar' of my granny.
the picnics i went to, they all belong to you.
you let me give a passable excuse to avoid the sunscreen, which promises to do good for my skin but makes me look hideous.
i also have to thank you for bringing lots of peas,cauliflowers and of course tomatoes.
and oh the pleasure of having a plateful of tangy oranges,or olives or berries with my back to the winter sun.
i could go on and on.
but let me end now by just saying thanks and welcome once again.
