dats the name of the girl who has arrived at our place today to take up the post of domestic help.
when i saw her, the first thing that came to my mind was " isnt she's too light-skinned to be a domestic helper?"
but one's economic status is not entirely decided by one's skin color though there are numerous examples of persons whose riches can be largely attributed to their looks.(hope nobody is going to think i judge people by their skin color, looks,height etc)
back to jonali.
she's 14, so not a child labour hopefully.
she'll have better living conditions at our place,warmer bed, nutrition and probably education and her family will gain financially from it.
there's no work load for her,jst keeping my mom company.
yet i am feeling a bit sad for her.
maybe because she'll lose some of the simple pleasures of life that money cant buy.
like going to fair or market with her friends.
like running around the house, playing silly games or having fights with her siblings
she'll get better medical care if she falls ill but not the gentle caress of her mother on her forehead.
she'll eat better and maybe more than her home here yet nobody will be saving the lion's share of good food for her in this house.
and no matter how much we care for her, we wont be her family.
